Webinar: ESRD and Medicare Advantage in 2021: Preparing for Change

When:  Oct 7, 2020 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  Open Member Community

In 2016, Congress decided that people who are eligible for Medicare due to a diagnosis of End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) would become eligible to enroll in Medicare Advantage (MA) plans beginning January 1, 2021.

This will directly impact how dialysis professionals manage the patient experience.

Beginning in 2021, ESRD beneficiaries will have the option to enroll in Medicare Advantage, even if they had been previously diagnosed. This presents a new challenge for dialysis providers as they educate patients on their choices, taking quality and cost into consideration.

Our panel of experts will address the questions that face dialysis providers, such as navigating the impact this has on the management of services, incentives for selection of care modality, and admission/re-admission rates. At the same time and most importantly, providers face addressing the needs of patients for information on services available and costs to them, whether in or out-of-network, supplemental insurance, and more.

During this webinar, participants will:

  • Gain a greater understanding of this change from the facility and patient perspectives
  • Understand practical guidance on what makes for a successful contract to ensure the stability of expectations for dialysis service provision
  • Review of program management as changes and new drugs arrive in the market
